Tyler was very personable with the doctor, making sure to wave, babble, laugh and just flirt in general. What seemed to impress her most was that a boy of his size was so mobile. He cruised around her office quickly, showing off his strong legs. We discussed his onset of separation anxiety which can seem severe but she assures me is normal. We also talked about switching Tyler from formula to milk and dropping his day time bottles for sippy cups. So far (we're on day 2 keep in mind) the milk transition has gone smoothly...as long as it's in a bottle. When I offer it to him in his sippy cup he looks from the cup to me and then laughs. I suppose that part will take some getting used to. However, his eating has picked up quite a bit. Before he would drain his daytime bottles and pick at his food but the past 2 days he's been eating up all his food. Jim and I have decided to keep his morning and nighttime bottles for now.
Of course, the visit didn't end on such a high note for poor Ty. He had to have 3 shots and his finger pricked for blood tests. Tears aside, the visit went really well and we'll see her again in 3 more months!
