Day at the Zoo

Friday morning Tyler and I met our friend Katie and her little boy, Ben at the Minnesota zoo. It was the perfect day to be outside, warm but with a great breeze. We saw monkeys, tigers and farm animals with all their babies. The aquarium area seemed to be Tyler's favorite, although it could have been the cool lights in the ceiling. :) Ben was such a big help with Tyler. When his pacifier fell out during lunch Ben always offered to get it for him. He's going to make a great big brother!

Thanks for the invitation Katie. We can't wait to do it again!

New Noise

Tyler's making new noises all the time, but this one is his favorite. He sucks in his breath and makes a noise that sounds like a cross between a dinosaur and a bird. It's so cute! He likes to do it when Jim and I are in the middle of a conversation. He's also guaranteed to do it whenever I make my "spaceship" sound by rolling my tongue. When he hears it his eyes get really big and he looks all around. Then he makes this sound like he's trying to communicate with it. Ha!

Weenie Friends

Here are some pictures of Tyler and his friends, Tanner and Owen. The dogs are now pretty well adjusted to the new addition. They still like to sniff him every now and then (and Tanner loves to give him kisses still) but the novelty of Tyler has worn off. He's getting more and more curious about them, though. Especially when he's on his tummy and they're at eye level. It will be interesting when he starts to crawl. Look out Tanner and Owen!

New Routine

This week we started Tyler on a new nightime routine. We dropped his 10pm feeding and moved his bedtime from 7pm to between 7:30 and 8:00. Now he sleeps the whole night through! He also takes just 3 daytime naps now instead of 4. He's really responded well to this new routine so we hope he keeps up the good work!

First time apart

This weekend was the first time Jim and I had left Tyler for a significant amount of time. We went to a wedding in South Bend, IN and Jim's parents came over to babysit. While it was hard to leave him it was so great to spend a weekend catching up and having fun with all our friends. Nana and Papa Buffo said he was an angel all weekend, just as happy as can be. We couldn't wait to see him again on Sunday. Jim and Tyler gave me a massage before the wedding for Mother's Day but seeing him smile at me when we got home was the best gift of all. Thanks, Jim and Sharon, for taking such good care of him this weekend. We know he had fun and missed you when you left Sunday evening!!

Still Growing!

Tyler had a check up yesterday and got weighed again. He now weighs 16 lbs 14.5 oz!! He's gained over two pounds in the past month!

Giggles

This Saturday, while I was at Target, Tyler laughed for the first time. Jim was tickling him with his rattles and said Tyler giggled for 10 minutes straight! Since then, Jim's been able to get a few chuckles out of him but I've yet to do it myself. As soon as we can capture it on video we'll post it because it's pretty darn cute!

3 months old

To celebrate his 3 month birthday Tyler learned a new trick!
