Grandma comes to visit...
My mom was in town to visit Tyler this weekend. The last time she saw him he was only a week old so it was like seeing a whole new baby. He had fun showing off all the things he can do now. Tyler just loved all the extra attention he got and showed it with lots of smiles and giggles. Tanner and Owen enjoyed the extra lovin' too! :)

Thanks for coming up here to hang out with us! We love you and hope to see you again soon!
Bath time Breakthrough!
Tonight we gave Tyler a bath and, for the first time ever, he didn't shed one tear. He actually gave us a few smiles! We're testing out a new, earlier bedtime for Tyler who couldn't seem to make it up until 7:00 anymore. Therefore, his bath was a good 45 minutes earlier than usual. We're not sure if that accounts for his new disposition or if he's just coming around but either way we'll take it!

4 Month Check Up
On Thursday Tyler had his 4 month check up with Dr. Price. He weighed 18 lbs 2.5 oz (95th percentile) and was 24.5 inches long (50th percentile). He performed some of his tricks for her like smiling, talking and holding his head up while on his tummy. She was pretty impressed that he could already roll over. She said it takes most babies his size a little longer because there's so much to move! We definitely have an athlete on our hands. She also said it was okay to start Tyler on some rice cereal for one or two meals a day. Once he's used to that we'll start working actual baby food into his meals!
Jim and I are really grateful he's doing so well and we look forward to our next visit in 2 more months!

Fun Playdate
This week Tyler and I met our friends Christa and little Anna for a walk in the park. The babies had fun and us moms got a workout as we off-roaded through the woods! It was a lot of fun and a gorgeous day to be outside. Afterwards, we headed back to Christa's dad's house for lunch and playtime. Anna was so cute with Tyler! She wanted to touch his feet and his face and give him hugs. They even had a little "screaming" conversation where one would scream and the other would answer back. It was so funny! Tyler loved being with Christa too. He was grinning and flirting with her all afternoon, and kept showing off to get her attention. Christa and I marveled at what a difference 5 months makes now, but soon Tyler and Anna will be all caught up and doing the same things. It will be a lot of fun to watch them grow up together.

Fun in Florida
This past week Jim and I packed up Tyler and headed for sunny Florida to spend some time with my family on Captiva Island. Tyler got to meet a lot of new people and have a lot of new experiences. He rode on a plane and a boat for the first time. He did really good on the plane rides and absolutely loved the boat trip. He also went swimming for the first time and, unlike at bath time, didn't cry at all! He got to meet his Aunt Keely and Uncle Josh, Aunt Heather and Uncle Curtis and Cousins Cade and Halee. My friend Haley also came up from Miami to meet him and hang out for a few days.
Unfortunately, Tyler's usual laid back self did not come with us on the trip. Whether it was being out of his usual environment, too many new experiences, or teething Tyler was a grumpy gus each and every evening we were in Florida. Luckily, his days were good but it did make for a long week for me and Jim. None the less, we were really happy to spend time with everyone and catch up. We will miss you all and hope to see you again soon!
