Weekend Recap

What a fun weekend we had! Saturday Tyler hung out with Dad while I ran some errands. Because it was so nice out Jim moved Tyler's swing outside and he watched Jim wash both our cars. Tyler loves his swing!
Saturday night Jim, Tyler and I went to Famous Dave's for some barbeque. Tyler did pretty well until about half way through our meal. We were cutting it a little to close to feeding and bed time and he let us know about it! Luckily, the restaurant was very loud so he didn't disturb anyone else.
On Sunday Jim and I took Tyler to church for the first time. He did so good! He slept for most of it but woke up a few times and just looked around, taking it all in. What an angel! Sunday afternoon we tried to spend as much time outside as possible. We went on two walks and then hung out on the deck (Tyler in his swing) with Dad and the dogs. The fresh air must have tuckered him out because he could barely stay awake for his seven o'clock feeding and was completely out before I laid him in his crib.
We're looking forward to more weekends like this once summer gets here!

Off the charts...

Literally! Today Tyler went in for his 2 month check up and shots. He weighed in at 14 pounds 11 1/2 ounces which is over the 100th percentile for his age. What a chunk!! He's grown to 23 1/2 inches which is in the 75th percentile. Overall he's an above average baby and in perfect health.

Besides being poked and prodded Tyler also got 4 shots. The whole experience was a little traumatic for him. After showcasing his lung capacity (and vocal range) he fell completely asleep on the exam table in between procedures! All in all, he was a brave little boy and I'm proud of him!

New Toy

Grammy sent Tyler some new toys for Easter and this morning we tried out his wrist rattles. He loved them! He sat in his chair and would shake his little hands and then smile. Unfortunatley, I think it was a little too close to his naptime. He was making noise and I was snapping pictures...all of a sudden he just stopped and made a perfect little frown then started to bawl. Talk about overstimulated! After rocking him quietly for a few minutes he fell right to sleep. What a busy morning! Thanks Grammy for such a fun toy!

Touchdown!

This is the position that Tyler falls asleep in every night. Jim and I have decided that he's signaling a touchdown.

Easter Brunch

On Saturday we had Easter brunch with Jim's family. It was the first time Tyler met his cousins, Kaitlyn, Nick and Ryan. Thanks for having us over guys!

Auntie Jessica

This weekend Aunt Jessica got to visit from New York and meet her nephew. We had a really good time! We went to the mall and to brunch with Jim's family. She was so good with Tyler. There was one small exploding poop incident but luckily it didn't get on Jessica even though she was holding him. I've never seen anyone hand off a baby so fast! She was such a big help and we're glad she could come spend some time with us. We miss you already!

Visitors from Texas

This past week my dad, stepmom and grandma came to meet little Tyler. What a fun few days we had! Their first day here was very rainy and cold so we stayed home and let everyone get to know Tyler. He loved the attention he got from his Poppy, Gammy and Honey. He was very animated and showed off his newest accessory, a gummy smile. Poppy worked with Tyler a lot on learning to stick out his tongue, their own special greeting. Tyler also practiced "talking" with his visitors. When he got excited he'd coo, something he's just started doing.

On Sunday braved the rain to meet Jim's parents for an early dinner. Tyler did so good at the restaurant, only fussing a few times. Luckily, he was surrounded by grandparents just waiting to pick him up and cuddle!

On Monday the sun peeked out so we all went for a walk around the neighborhood. The fresh air and exercise did everyone good, including the weenies. By the time we got back to the house Owen could barely walk! We grilled out that night, just in time to miss the snow that fell the next day.

Tyler, Jim and I were very sad to see everyone leave on Tuesday. Thank y'all so much for visiting and we can't wait to see you again soon!
